****Changes to goalie equipment and goalie fees 2010-2011 season****

For the 2010-2011 season Centennial Youth Hockey Association has opted out of providing goalie equipment for goaltenders.  We will still provide goalie equipment for the Initiation level, along with limited supply of Squirt/U10 goalie equipment.  To alleviate the costs associated with families now having to provide equipment for their goalies  the association is going to only be charging goaltenders the initial registration fee for the winter season.  You will still be responsible for the Arena Fee, and any applicable Team Assessment.

For squirt/U10 goalies wanting to use CYHA goalie equipment, you will be responsible for the full program cost as in years past.

If you have CYHA goalie equipment and are interested in purchasing this from the association:

If you have CYHA goalie equipment and will be turning this in:

  • Please bring equipment to In Person registration August 2nd or August 17th at 6:00 PM at Centennial Middle School Gym "B"

Dave’s Sport Shop in Blaine is offering CYHA goalies a discount on goalie equipment.  Please talk with Jesse, and let him know you are a Centennial Goalie.

Play it Again Sports is a good place to look for used equipment.  They also have some new equipment.

2010-2011 Goalie Development Program

GDI GDI is a world-leader in the development of hockey goaltenders. The tools and techniques developed by GDI have revolutionized the way that goalies play the game. Traditionally, GDI has conducted summer camps, in-season and off-season consulting programs and published an array of development resources and periodicals. Over the course of GDI's history, its reputation has grown due to exceptional knowledge of the goaltending position and the ability to consistently convey that knowledge to coaches and goalies. The founder and president, Ian Clark, can be credited with establishing this unparalleled success

Biography: Instructing GDI goaltenders at some of the highest levels, Matt has coached pro prospects at GDI national camps and professional athletes in GDI's Pro Consulting program in Vancouver, British Columbia. In recent years, he has assisted former Los Angeles Kings Goaltending Consultant Andy Nowicki, now with the WHL's Red Deer Rebels, with on-ice instruction and video analysis. Also this year, Matt will worked with the North Iowa Outlaws of the NAHL and lend his services to the Sioux Falls Stampede on the USHL.

Matt was born in Edmonton, Alberta and began playing in Northern Alberta. At 14, Matt moved to the United States, where he played collegiate hockey at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Immediately following his playing career at Bethel, Matt became the school's goaltending coach. He now works with various youth hockey and Junior hockey teams in the NAHL and USHL.
